What does a Support Coordinator do?

A Support Coordinator helps you understand your NDIS plan, connect with providers, and use your funding. At Red Mud Supports, Jason is an independent Support Coordinator providing Level 2 support coordination — practical help to turn your plan into supports that work, while you stay in control of the choices.

Is support coordination automatically included in every NDIS plan?

No. The NDIA decides whether it is reasonable and necessary for your individual circumstances. If you think you need it, explain the barriers you face, what you want help with, and how coordination would support your goals at your planning meeting or reassessment.

Where do I find it in my plan?

Look in the Capacity Building section for “Support Coordination”. Your plan may fund Support Connection, Coordination of Supports (Level 2), or Specialist Support Coordination. Your my NDIS portal, planner, LAC or plan manager can help you confirm your budget.

Can I choose my own support coordinator?

Generally, yes. Choice and control is central to the NDIS. Because Red Mud Supports is unregistered, I can provide funded support coordination when that budget is plan managed or self managed.

What if my funding is agency managed?

If your support coordination is NDIA/Agency Managed, you currently need to use a registered NDIS provider. I would not be able to provide that funded service.

Can I work with a Support Coordinator in the Riverland?

Yes. Jason is a Support Coordinator based in the Riverland, South Australia. Face-to-face work covers towns such as Loxton, Berri, Renmark, Barmera and Waikerie. Where it is a good fit I can also support people elsewhere in SA by phone, email and video.

Can a plan manager or provider refer someone?

Yes. Plan managers, allied health, support providers, LACs and families can refer using the enquiry form. No referral commissions or incentives are paid.

Do you take on large caseloads?

No. This is an owner-operated practice with a deliberately small caseload so people get a timely reply and work with Jason directly.
